The OWASP Proactive Controls is a "Top 10 like document" aimed to help developers build secure applications. This project is phrased and built in a positive, testable manner that describes the Top 10 software control categories that architects and developers should absolutely, positively include 100% of the time in every software project.
This talk will cover the fundamental controls in critical software categories such as Authentication, Access Control, Validation, Encoding, Query Parameterization, Data Protection, Secure Requirements, Secure Architecture and Secure Design.

Jim has over 15 yeard developer experience
He also provides secure coding and developer awareness training for WhiteHat using his 7+ years of experience delivering developer-training courses for SANS, Aspect Security and others.
Jim Manico is the VP of Security Architecture for WhiteHat Security, a web security firm. He authors and delivers developer security awareness training for WhiteHat Security and has a background as a software developer and architect. Jim is also a global board member for the OWASP foundation. He manages and participates in several OWASP projects, including the OWASP cheat sheet series and the OWASP podcast series.
